Second Hour students heard and responded to Devin Anderson’s Violin Concerto.

Third and Eighth Hour students heard and responded to Henryk Goreki’s Symphony 3.

You know how you’re told to “never give up,” or “always try your best” … Well, this video clip (from a movie titled Facing the Giants) provides an excellent point of inspiration for those moments when you really feel like you just want to give up.

Jan 22 thru Jan 25 – Building display boards.  Display boards DUE to advisor by Jan. 25

Jan 28 thru Jan 30 – Writing presentations

Jan 31 thru Feb 8 – Practice presentations in your English class

Feb 11 – Set up display board for public viewing

Feb 12 thru Feb 15 – Senior Project Presentation Week

Well, it’s final.  !!  The week for your presentations has been set for Feb. 11-15.  You will sign up for a 30 minute slot in your English class (list will be posted before school for those of you that want/need the ‘perfect’ presentation time … first come, first serve).  Slots will be divided across advisors, you must sign up to present with your advisor as he/she serves as one of your presentation judges.  Remember, you can attend 1 other senior presentation.  And, you can invite family to be in the audience if you want (but no underclassmen).  See the calendar posted in my classroom (and soon to the Sr. Project page here) for prep deadlines.   

Hola, Colleagues!  After the edublogs training we’ve learned that for some reason the school email accounts do not work for getting your password.  We thought the spam filter was the hang-up, but no such luck.  So, you will have to create your account using another email account (this info comes from the edublogs forum).  Let me know if you need help.  See ya, Me.

I hope all of you had a safe and fun winter break!  I know my JUNIORS cannot wait to find out what the big deal is with Gatsby, right? … and SENIORS you’ve got what coming up … what was that thing called … yeah, that’s it … the final part of your Senior PROJECT!  The good part for me (the initially terrifying and later gratifying part for you!)
