Is there Life after Senior Projects?

Absolutely!  It’s one filled with Beowulf, The Iliad, The Canterbury Tales and Tales from a Rivertown (just to name a few!)

In the English classroom you aren’t allowed to let Senioritis set in until graduation day … we still have M U C H to do.  It might be difficult to do, but you need to remain “in touch” with your classes and your responsibilities.  You don’t want to blow it this close to graduation!

End of pep talk … bring a good attitude to class and you’ll be fine.

Later, Gators.  Ms. H.

If you need another copy of the genres from which you can choose to complete your summative assessment of Night look under the English III page.  This project must be complete by Feb. 25th at the end of the day.  Let me know if you need anything.  I have lifted the Animoto requirement due to computer issues, but I still encourage you to look at this program.  If you complete an animoto, email me the final product to my gmail account.

Toodles, Ms. H.  :)

Senior Project Presentations

The presentations, overall, were a success.  Some of you will be very happy with your grade, some of you, well … will probably wish you would have tried something different.  You will receive your grades for your project, display board and presentation in your English class on Monday.  Remember, your project and display board were graded by your advisor.  Your presentation grade is the average grade of your five presentation judges.

School cancelled Monday … now what??

JUDGES, if you are looking for the presentation rubric, check the next post below.

SENIORS AND JUDGES:  All seniors should have recieved a call via the school’s call system with the following information due to inclement weather:  Senior project presentations will go on as scheduled, beginning Tuesday.  If a senior is scheduled to present on Tuesday, that student will still present on Tuesday and set up the display area after the presentation.  All other seniors (those not scheduled to present) will report to classes on Tuesday and be given time during their English class to set up the display area.

Stay safe on this ice!  Weaver, watch out for the porch steps!  :)

Got questions?  Email me.

presentation.jpg

Senior Project presentation week begins on Tuesday.  !!  If you don’t remember the time you signed up, check the schedule posted on the bulletin board across from my classroom.

Presentations will take place in the high school conference room.

Click on this link ( 2008 Presentation Rubric ) to see how the judges will assess you during your presentation.

Best of luck to each of you!  If you have any last minute questions, find me before or after school or send me an email … I will be judging all week (from Tuesday on) and will not be in my classroom.

Take a deep breath … each and every one of you can do this, I know it!

An extra dose of coolness, please!

Well, well, well … they are finally here and mine was delivered today!  The tablet notebooks are being set up for teachers and being dispersed based on the number drawn (I was #10!)

Students, you get yours at the beginning of the 2008 school year.

Rock on, pretty darn cool if you ask me!  My free time will now be devoted to learning what this ‘baby’ can do to enhance our classroom learning experience.  And, in August, you’ll get your own!
